El A.M.O. y el esclavo" (the master and the slave), is a series about 'A.M.O. -Arco Minero del Orinoco-' (Mining Region of the Orinoco), a territory of 111 843,70 km2 located in Venezuela.
The colonial practices, economic sustainability via natural resources continues. The Venezuelan government decided to exchange dependence from oil to gold extraction.

Until not that long ago, the gold mine territory was left alone by the state as a source of income. Any existing government must protect this territory—the fundamental rights of the indigenous communities that live there and the ecological concerns of this natural reserve. Increasingly through the past years, it has become in control by local mafias, the military, the guerilla, and transnational corporations. This gold and minerals commerce is illicit, the country's Congress National Assembly has not approved it. The extraction is corrupt, unplanned, irresponsible to the ecosystem. Environmental degradation exploitation is taking place. Tons of gold smuggled to the Caribbean with a final destination to the Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the so-called "Route of the Gold."
